Easter Traditions

Easter is just around the corner; am I the only one that feels like Easter has come SUPER early this year?  Nonetheless; Easter is one of my kids' favorite holidays and who can blame them?  Pretty dresses, Candy from the Easter bunny, lots of family and some great family traditions.  Below are some of the fun things we like to do to celebrate the day.

For us; Easter starts the night before.  On the eve of Easter we plant magical beans, these beans only work the night before Easter.  We plant them, water them, and then wait to see what appears in the morning!

(My kids LOVED this)

After we find what grew from the magic beans; the day starts with a note from the Bunny himself.  Where we find the note changes from year to year; but sooner or later we find it and it leads the kids on a scavenger hunt for their Easter baskets.  The kids love going from clue to clue and running around the house. When the kids were not able to read I made the clues with pictures so they could figure them out on their own.

For breakfast we like to have something fun; two years ago we made bunny pancakes; the kids loved them and still ask for them on a regular basis.

Of course we also do the traditional Easter things; such as decorated eggs and cookies, hunting for eggs, and going to Sunday service.  However, these are some of the new traditions we have started that our kids seem to really enjoy.

What are some of the fun things your family does to celebrate the Easter holiday?
