Nearing Home Book Review

At first I admit that I was a little hesitant in picking up this book. However, my father insisted that this book was a good one.  So I gave in and I'm glad I did.  Bill Graham reeled me in with his reflections on purpose, legacies, discipline and planning. He asks, “Why is aging a young person’s issue?” and the book talks about the importance of learning from others. I can see why my father enjoyed this book so much; and it gave me great insight into someone else's point of view.

It is full of wisdom and hope to readers of different ages. As a twenty-something year old I wasn't sure I would need a book like this; however I find it quite refreshing to read from someone who has lived their life according to the Lord. Mr. Graham's book gives us tips on how to view retirement: what to do and what to consider before taking the giant leap. He reminds us that our attitudes play a major role in the closing scene on life stages; that life itself stands between the bookends of birth and death.

I would recommend this book to anyone of any age since at some point in our lives, we will all be nearing home.

I received a free copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
